The Climate Institute
Organisational Development
Organisational Strategy, Brand Development & Revenue Generation
2011 – 2015
The Climate Institute was an independent, non-profit research and communications organisation that worked to catalyse systemic solutions to climate change in Australia and overseas from 2005–2017.
From 2011–2015 I was responsible for organisational strategy & research planning, marketing, revenue generation, partnership development and innovation & change management.
I was a key member of the executive team and helped evolve the Institute from a short–term tactical organisation to a more strategically focused change agent. I was also responsible for securing the Institute’s funding base to drive impact; from 2011–2015 average annual fundraising income was AUD$2.95 million.
Established with private Philanthropic funding in late 2005, the Institute was only intended to be in existence for 5 years. However, the political climate in Australia at the time led to a need to secure additional funding to continue its' highly targeted and essential climate policy advocacy work for a further 5 years.
The Institute sadly announced it's closure in March 2017 after an extended 12–year life.
