Richard has spent over 25 years finding effective ways to make sustained change happen.

He has worked around the world in both the Corporate & Not–For–Profit Sectors and been involved in projects and partnerships that have stretched deep into the Public Sector.

He started his career in a number of UK research and marketing consultancies where he ran multi–award winning campaigns for brands like Bacardi–Martini, Coca–Cola, Reebok Europe, The Guardian & Observer Newspapers, ScottishPower and Unilever.

From 1997–2001 he led the head office team of BD–Network, an independent strategic research and marketing agency with 28 staff and an annual turnover he helped grow to $30M. It was one of the UK’s fastest growing and most highly awarded agencies during this period.

On leaving BD he worked as a consultant and advised on a variety of projects in the UK & Australia, including the launch of an ethical & sustainable clothing business. This kick–started his interest and ongoing involvement in a number of social enterprises & Cleantech start-ups.

After moving to Australia, he joined The Coca–Cola Company, spending the next 8 years working throughout the organisation in the Asia–Pacific region.

During this time, he worked in the marketing, commercial, corporate affairs, insights and sustainability teams. He led the launch of Coca–Cola Zero, worked on the Olympics & Rugby World Cup, ran the Coca–Cola Foundation in the Asia–Pacific and was seconded to South Africa to work in some of Cape Towns’ Townships. In 2007 he was selected to take part in ‘Leadership on the Edge’; an Antarctic expedition led by Robert Swan (OBE), the first man to walk to both the South & North Poles. His final role was as South Pacific Director of Sustainability where he co-led the creation of Project Catalyst – a multi–year, multi partner program to reduce the impact of sugarcane farming on the Great Barrier Reef. The program won a Banksia Award and Queensland Premier's Sustainability Award in 2010 and is now in its 8th year.

Following this he joined The Climate Institute as Development Director and helped lead the evolution of the Institute from a short–term tactical organisation to a more strategically focused change agent. He was also involved in a number of research–led projects in both Australia and across the Region.

He founded 2iis Consulting to take the experience gained in making research–driven, strategic, long–lasting change happen in a broad range of situations

and apply it to helping organisations dedicated to changing the world for the better.
