Sustainability, Leadership and Organisational Strategy
February 2007 Onwards
In early 2007 I was selected to take part in IAE–7, an international leadership expedition to Antarctica involving individuals from 27 countries.
The expedition explored first hand the impacts of climate change, whilst looking to inspire leaders from around the world to start to build some of the solutions to address it. It also involved working on long–term strategic plans to preserve Antarctica from exploitation when the current global treaty protecting it comes to an end in the year 2041.
My personal involvement included detailed sustainability analysis, climate impact modelling and leadership development, alongside developing strategic sustainability plans for some of the multinational corporations involved in the expedition.
2041 was founded by polar explorer, environmental leader and public speaker Robert Swan, OBE, the first person in history to walk to both the North and South Poles. Swan has dedicated his life to the preservation of Antarctica by the promotion of recycling, renewable energy and sustainability to combat the effects of climate change.
