ACM Philanthropy Strategy Review and Update
October 2021 – January 2022
Philanthropy Squared was commissioned by the ACM in October 2021 to review the current Philanthropy programme and provide recommendations to inform the development of a future 5 -year Philanthropy strategy.
Undertaken by Frankie Airey & Richard Plumpton of Philanthropy Squared, the work was completed in two distinct phases between October 2021 and January 2022:
1) ACM Philanthropy Performance Analysis 2015–21 (Oct 2021 – Jan 2022)
An analysis of financial performance and donor stewardship at the ACM between the 2015/16 and 2020/21 Financial Years to provide a clear view of underlying financial performance across all the philanthropic and membership revenue streams that currently exist at the ACM.
2) ACM Philanthropy Programme Review (Nov 2021 – Jan 2022)
A detailed assessment of the current programme through interviews with a broad range of individuals involved with the ACM's philanthropic efforts, alongside a review of philanthropic and organisational materials. The review also included an assessment of progress since the 2015/16 Development Review.
Taken together, the two reports resulting from these phases of work provide the basis for the development of a 5-year strategic plan for Philanthropy at the ACM – something the programme review recommends is done in a more considered and comprehensive way than was the case in 2015/16, given the clear opportunities for more transformational growth that are provided by the ACM’s ‘Transformation’ strategy, the ‘Reimagining’ project and the unique circumstances created by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
